We're all in this together - are we? The Government have virtually stopped using this blatant lie. But look around you, at work, at home, in the street. Who are 'we'? We are the British people. We are not the Government. We are not the major shareholders in big City institutions. We are the people of this country. We are the public. On May 10th off duty police officers more...
The Last Call to Attention
By TSF at April 20, 2012 | 10:29 am | 2 Comments
10th May 2012 is a Thursday - it will probably be a little hot and muggy in London as police officers and staff, both serving and retired, all on their rest days or having taken leave or time off will muster along the top of Marble Arch right the way down Park Lane. I was there a few years back when we protested on the walk. It is an awesome sight to see so many unite. more...
Should the Police be allowed to Strike?
By TSF at March 23, 2012 | 12:07 pm | 3 Comments
Should police officers have the right to strike? That is a question now on the lips of most police officers and members of the public. The Police Federation which represents police officers in England and Wales was set up in 1919 as part of the Police Act which ruled that police officers couldn’t strike but instead they would be represented by the Federation. However more...
Tribute to a Brave Officer
By TSF at March 1, 2012 | 9:47 am | 0 Comment
I have just heard the incredibly sad news that Police Constable David Rathband of Northumbria Police has been found dead at his home. PC Rathband was a brave officer who was shot in the face in July 2010 by the murderer Raul Moat in Newcastle. The shooting left him completely blind. Instead of accepting his fate after the incident, PC Rathband returned to work, fought more...
Out of touch with Policing
By TSF at February 9, 2012 | 3:28 am | 8 Comments
Monday 30th January 2012 and Theresa May responds to the Police Arbitration Panel’s (PAT’s) recommendations on police pay. But it wasn’t just about police pay and conditions was it? Her speech was making it clear that the whole package was about police ‘reform’ and sadly her treatment of police officers is not about ‘reform’ of policing at all. It is more...

A Debt of Gratitude
By TSF at October 25, 2011 | 3:12 pm | 0 Comment
Police officers in Britain and Ireland are some of the best in the world, yet they are all too often taken for granted. Having seen first hand the work a police officer does everyday they really are incredible and we owe them a debt of gratitude. They respond to emergency calls not knowing whether they will see the end of their shift, and sadly yesterday two police more...
The Letwin Scandal
By TSF at October 14, 2011 | 1:29 am | 1 Comments
Imagine if you had access to top secret papers, documents and emails about national security, MI5, MI6 and Al Qaeda and left them in a bin in the middle of a public park - you wouldn’t do it would you? No right minded person would if we are honest. However the Prime Minister’s close ally, Oliver Letwin who is the Conservative MP for West Dorset and Cabinet Office more...
National Police Memorial Day
By TSF at September 21, 2011 | 1:19 pm | 0 Comment
They serve the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. They go out in all weathers to keep our communities safe and are all incredibly inspirational. This weekend police officers and the public alike will travel to Glasgow for the National Police Memorial Day which remembers those police officers who have died in the line of duty. So far in 2011, there are more...
